Join jazz legend Mike Gibbs and rising star Issie Barratt as they lead the award-winning Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra in a dazzling evening of musical adventures, featuring the original music of both guest composers, including works especially commissioned for CUJO, and the World Premiere of "Hail Minutiae" for big band.

This concert forms a central part of an exciting project that sees the Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra playing the original work of these two magnificent composers around the UK, including the Birmingham Conservatoire. Contemporary, richly orchestral, and fabulously varied but always swinging, this is a new music that rides roughshod over stylistic boundaries; whether your taste be classical or straight-ahead jazz, there is sure to be something here for everyone, but come prepared to have dashed your preconceptions of exactly what a "big band" should be.
